The Results of our Survey
The results for each question are shown in the table. The score and colour shows the overall balance of attitudes towards each question by assigning points to each answer. There were a total of 28 responses to the survey (out of 100 people) which is still a really good response rate considering so many are leaving next week. Thank you for engaging with this exercise, we won’t run it again now as the guidance is changing significantly from next week so a different survey will be required to track attitudes. I have shown the total results and then broken this down into Parents/Carers and Staff responses - the split in attitudes is very similar for both. Underneath the table you will find a brief comment on the answers to each question that we will be using in our ongoing discussions. This is then followed by the additional comments made.

Comments in Favour of Keeping the Well Child Only Policy.
Our little one has been poorly quite a lot recently. We feel that it may have been because of the Well only children policy being relaxed! She was home quite a bit (almost 3 weeks on and off!) but able to go in with a runny nose once she was Better. This helped us of Course as we are both working but felt the well only children was keeping her healthy. We do understand that the nurseries need to move on though and we will accept whatever decision the nursery makes!
I agree with well child only policy, but it has to work for everyone. My child missed few sessions because he got a cold from nursery and passed it to whole family. We didn't send our child because child wasn't feeling 100% but someone sent their children when they were not 100% and passed it to my child which is quiet frustrating. Well child only policy is very good in theory if it can work for everyone.

I’ll send my kids to nursery / school whatever you decide! I’m happy to drop all restrictions but if you do decide to keep them in place that’s fine too.
I think it will require all parents/staff to commit to the policy otherwise it will not be fully effective. In principle it is a good idea, however, recently my child did pick up a cough from nursery which the rest of the family then caught. We ensured he didn't go in, and missed a session so that he could recover and not pass it on but it seems likely that others do send their child in when not fully well. A more effective way to avoid covid infections specifically would be to ask parents to test twice a week even after restrictions are lifted. I think that if someone knew they or their child had covid they wouldn't send their child to nursery but would if it was another type of cold or bug.
I believe that if children are too unwell to attend nursery they should be at home as per pre Covid guidelines. If children have a lingering cold or runny nose that wouldn’t stop them being able to attend at a normal time. I believe they should be able to come in. Both parents work in our family and so taking unpaid leave for a child who has a snotty nose for 2-3 weeks isn’t viable.
I will still send my child to nursery/holiday club even if rules are relaxed.
