ABOUT GREENWAY NURSERY IN HORSHAM

Our Horsham setting consists of a single storey building, some 22 metres long by 16 metres deep, situated on the edge of the Greenway Academy playing fields. It contains four large classrooms, an office and meeting lounge, a central hall, two separate toilet areas and a generous Early Years garden. Laura Uffindell (‘Miss Dell’) is the Setting Manager, responsible for both Nursery and Rainbow Club operations, assisted by her Deputy Nursery Manager (and SENCO), Mrs Paula Denhart. We run as a Term Time nursery but operate an optional Holiday Club during the school holidays - we operate in one form or another for 50 weeks of the year.


Greenway Nursery is a large Early Years setting for children aged between 2 and 4 years, registered for up to 60 children per session (although we prefer to cap our numbers at 52 to maintain a slightly quieter atmosphere). We are a little unusual for a larger setting, in that we adopt the ‘Family Approach’, vertically grouping children by key worker, rather than restricting children to areas based on their age. We find the stability of the continuous key worker relationship, along with the confidence instilled by allowing all children to explore the entirety of our extensive setting, helps children make the best preparation for their Reception year.


We are please to accept both 15 and 30 hours Free Entitlement for 3 & 4 year-olds, 15 hours Funding for eligible 2-year-olds arranged through West Sussex County Council, 30 hours funding 2-Year-Old funding for Working Families, and all types of payment supports (please see our Information tab for details). Session Times and Prices

​We are open 7:30- 18:00 Monday to Friday in term time, and we also offer Holiday Club 8:00 -18:00 during all school holidays except for Christmas, which can be booked on a flexible basis (charged at £7.30 per hour). Children’s attendance is arranged into discrete sessions of set times to fit with the school day. Sessions are booked on a repeating weekly basis, term time only, with ad hoc Extra Sessions available (subject to session availability). Please see the Information tab for food arrangements.

Booking Extra Sessions and Holiday Clubs (Only for Current Greenway Nursery Children)

An advantage of being a large setting is that we often have scope to arrange Extra Sessions on an ad hoc basis without compromising pupil-staff ratios. Our Holiday Clubs are staffed by the same team who run our term time nursery, and are fully available to nursery children (subject to the Setting Manager’s judgment that the child will cope with the different style of provision). These sessions are NOT eligible for Free Entitlement and do not benefit from any discounts. The sessions are £7.30 per hour per child with a minimum booking of 3 hours. For your convenience, we maintain 2 online shops which allows you to book and pay online for Extra Sessions and Holiday Clubs using a Debit or Credit card. These shops do not work with alternative payments – please email the admin team to book and pay with childcare vouchers, TFCC or to use an existing credit balance. Holiday Clubs are only available to book once they have been set live by the Admin Team, about 4 weeks before the holidays start (all registered families will get an email alert). Extra Sessions are only available for quieter sessions.


​If you need to cancel a Holiday Club session you will need to give us at least a weeks’ notice for a refund or an online coupon. If a child is ill for a session, we can offer a swap for a different date (subject to availability), but no refund will be given
