Some families may be eligible for an additional 15 hours of free entitlement. Space permitting, we aim to accommodate this additional free entitlement in our standard sessions (see above). Broadly speaking, families will be eligible for this additional FE if both parents are working 16 hours per week. Please see www.gov.uk to find out more or to apply.
BOOKING A PLACE:
A £50 booking deposit is payable by bank transfer (or cheque if posting) upon submission of your application form to secure a place. If the sessions that you are applying for are wholly covered by free entitlement, you do not have to pay a deposit. However, if any part of your child’s attendance is to be paid for (e.g. Lunch times) the deposit stands. We will take the payment of this deposit as confirmation of your understanding of, and agreement with, our charging policy.
Subject to availability, GNRC admits all children once they have attained their second birthday; there are no other restrictions. Every effort will be made to meet the sessions that parents request. Once an application form has been signed and submitted and a child has been accepted by the nursery, parents can be confident that that place will be reserved for the child for as long as it is required. It must be emphasised that attendance at Greenway Nursery School does not guarantee a place at any specific Infant School. Further information on this subject should be obtained from: The Admissions Officer, Education Office (North), WSCC, County Hall North, Horsham, W Sussex, telephone 0845 075 1007, or visit www.westsussex.gov.uk/admissions.
FUNDING FOR TWO YEAR OLD AND THREE/FOUR YEAR OLD CHILDREN:
Some, but not all, two year old children, depending upon their circumstances, are eligible for Free Entitlement (FE) funding; this is arranged by the parents or carers of the two year old child, who should apply direct to the Department of Work & Pensions by logging on to http://www.westsussex.gov.uk/living/children_and_early_education/free_entitlement_for_2_3_and.aspx
GNRC can assist in this process if applicants wish; alternatively, contact Horsham Family Centre, c/o Kingsley Primary School, Harwood Road, Horsham, telephone 01 403 22 4444 or any other Family Centre. All children are eligible for their Free Entitlement (FE) from the start of the term following their third birthday. It is the nursery’s responsibility to make the claim for your child; you are asked to confirm the child’s date of birth by the production of a birth certificate and to ensure that your child is enrolled into the Nursery by the beginning of the term. Please note that application for and maintenance of the additional 15 hours of FE is the parent's responsibility. The FE is funding provided by the Government via West Sussex County Council to ensure that children between the ages of three and five have access to good quality early education. It pays for 570 (or 1140) hrs of early education, a maximum of 15 (or 30) hours per week for 38 weeks in the year, one week less than the academic year. GNRC closes the nursery on the 5 inset days to co-inside with Greenway Academy. On these days a holiday club runs.
GNRC claims the FE on behalf your child, provided he or she is registered to attend at the start of each term. If you feel it is in your child’s best interests, you can divide his or her funded hours between two settings; you must inform the business director (Chris Fletcher) if this is the case. The total funded hours booked with us, plus those booked with another setting, must NOT exceed 15 (or 30) hours per week. Prior to the start of the term in which your child receives his or her FE for the first time, parents/carers must complete a special form produced by West Sussex County Council entitled ‘FE PARENT DECLARATION FORM’. This will be given to you by your child’s key worker at the appropriate time.
REFUNDS OR CANCELLATIONS:
No refund can be made when children do not attend their scheduled sessions, if for example, a child has been ill or has been absent on holiday. If a child’s attendance at the nursery is to be terminated before the end of the academic year, GNRC requires 4 weeks’ notice of cancellation, or the equivalent fees in lieu.
PROMPT PAYMENT OF FEES:
Fees are invoiced termly and are payable in advance to GNRC Limited, preferably by bank transfer. It is important that all fees are paid promptly in line with our policy, and parents should accept that late or non-payment of fees will jeopardise their child’s attendance at GNRC.
