General Information about Rainbow Club
Rainbow Club (not ‘Rainbows’, which is related to Girlguiding) is a Wrap-Around Care provision for the children of Trafalgar Community Infant School and Greenway Junior Academy. We operate both Breakfast and After-School clubs in our own private setting within the grounds of Greenway Academy. Our extensive (320 square metre) single storey building is wheelchair accessible including access to our extensive early years garden. Whilst we are ‘Early Years’ specialists (running a large nursery at the same site), we provide a rich, age-appropriate club experience for children right up to Year 6 using a dedicated ‘Club Room’ for the older children. We also welcome children on a ‘Holiday Club Only’ basis, where wrap-around care is not required. If you are only interested in our Holiday Club provision, there is more information about this service further down the page.
The Breakfast Club opens at 7:30am, allowing plenty of time for a hearty breakfast and some fun and games to start the day. Children from Trafalgar School have their breakfast and play time in the nursery rooms before being escorted for the 200m walk across the recreation ground. Children from Greenway Academy have their breakfast and play time in the Rainbow Club Room before being sent to join the other children at the start of school.
The After-School Club runs from the end of the school day up until 6:00pm, but parents are able to collect their children at any time from 3:45 without prior discussion. Trafalgar children are collected from their classrooms by our Rainbow Club team, who then take a register before escorting them across the recreation ground back to the Nursery/ KS1 side of our building. Greenway Academy children meet at a designated point inside the Academy, where they are registered by Rainbow Club staff before being taken across the playground to KS2 Rainbow Club room. The children are given a snack at around 3:45pm and can then enjoy free play time until they are collected for home. Play takes many forms with the children encouraged to follow their own interests (for example, den building is a favourite), play outdoor games on the playground, play with the wide range of toys, games and activities on offer, or take part in daily adult-led arts and crafts (see information tab for activity plans).

Applying for a place at Rainbow Club (including for Holiday Club)
Once you have found an ideal attendance pattern for you, please have a look through our Terms and Conditions document, found in the Information tab. Having done so, or if you wish to only book casual Holiday Clubs, please click this button to launch the Online Application Form for Rainbow Club (opens in a new tab).
Booking Extra Sessions at Rainbow Club
We are often able to accommodate Extra Session bookings on an ad hoc basis for current wrap-around customers only. These are subject to availability and are available to book via the online store, where we use an ‘out of stock’ flag to indicate days when Rainbow Club is full and Extra Sessions cannot be booked. All ad hoc services are paid for in advance through the website with a debit/credit card and do not attract any discounts. Next day bookings can be made up to 6pm on the day before the session. Please do not book after this time as your order will not be processed in time but you will still be charged. Please click this button to launch the Extra Sessions Booking store (opens in a new tab).
Rainbow Holiday Clubs
Our Holiday Club is open to all Primary aged Children who attend Trafalgar Community Infant School or Greenway Academy, and to children from Greenway Nursery where the Setting Manager agrees this is appropriate. To ensure the highest quality of care at all times and to maintain the relaxed, personal character of our Holiday Clubs we impose strict limits on our numbers, taking no more than 21 children on any given day. We will provide a fruit and biscuit snack in the morning and afternoon, breakfast (Long Day only) and a picnic style lunch. Children have the choice of a wrap or sandwich and selection of fillings plus crisps, fruit, salad and vegetables. Although we cater for any special dietary needs, parents are free to provide a snack and lunch box if they so wish. All children should have a named water bottle on every session (although it is fine to fill this with squash if you wish).
Our Holiday Clubs operate on a two-tier attendance system: a Long Day or a Short Day.
A Long Day (8:00 - 18:00) costs £36 and includes breakfast, a mid-morning & mid-afternoon snack and lunch.
A Short Day (9:00 - 16:00) costs £29 and includes a mid-morning snack & lunch.
Prior to booking, you will need to have completed the above Rainbow Club Application Form (select 'Holiday Club Only' in the schedule section if you do not require wrap-around care) and have received confirmation and log-in credentials via email from us in order to use this system. For completeness, would all families please also use the ‘notes to seller’ field to remind us of any medical or allergy issues. To make a Holiday Club booking, please click this button (opens in a new tab)
If you need to cancel a Holiday Club session you will need to give us at least a weeks’ notice for a refund or an online coupon. If a child is ill for a session, we can offer a swap for a different date (subject to availability), but no refund will be given
